Prosthetic is a project dedicated to the issue of landmines in Afghanistan. For the last years Romano has been growing selected species of tulip from the region of Afghanistan and surrounding countries and worked with the London Prosthetic Centre in Kingston, with the full support of Dr. Abdo Haidar. Each print conveys the fragility of the cut flower, symbolizing the cut limb which is then reconstructed by the use of technology with a prosthetic device. Man that destroy and rebuilds is the main message of this body of works.
